Programs
You’re invited to The Town of Knightdale’s fourth annual Creek Week!
Join the Town as we host a Litter Sweep and celebrate our local water resources. The Litter Sweep will take place on Saturday, March 22 from 9:00am-11:00am. The Town will provide a verification letter to students in need of Community Service Hours.
Volunteers will initially meet at the Knightdale Station Park Amphitheater Stage. Participants will receive instructions on their designated cleanup area that is within a short drive, and where Public Works staff will safely escort and assist during the event.
Creek Week is sponsored by the Clean Water Education Partnership (CWEP). A regional group that shares resources to showcase our area’s streams, creeks, lakes, and wetlands. Events are planned throughout The Triangle for the public to participate in and learn more about the importance of clean and healthy waterways.
Attire: Dress appropriately for the weather as volunteers will be outside. Please wear clothes that can get dirty. Gloves and safety vests will be provided but personal work gloves are encouraged.
Age Restrictions: Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times during the litter sweep. No dropping off of participants under the age of 18 will be permitted.
For more information, contact Ike Archer, Stormwater Manager, at swengineer@knightdalenc.gov or call Knightdale Public Works at (919) 217-2250.
